<p>In association with You Crew, The Language Club is able to offer a limited programme of filmmaking courses during the summer of 2012 for students from 13 to 19 years of age in Friuli Venezia Giulia.</p>
<p>You Crew, is part of <a href="http://www.reelshowint.com/">Reelshow International</a>, a major international series of film student websites. You Crew is a new concept in the area of filmmaking and  language learning programmes.</p>
<p>These week long courses will be a &#8216;hands on&#8217; documentary filmmaking experience, conducted in the English language. They will cover pre-production; ‘on location’ filming  and basic post production.</p>
<p><strong>Location</strong>: Pordenone and on location in Friuli Venezia Giulia</p>
<p><strong>Age Group: Group 1: </strong>13 to 15 year olds; <strong>Group 2<em>:</em></strong> 16 to 19 year olds</p>
<p><strong>Dates: Group 1<em>:</em></strong> 16<sup>th</sup> – 22<sup>nd</sup> June 2012; <strong>Group 2<em>:</em></strong> 23<sup>rd</sup> – 29<sup>th</sup> June 2012</p>
<p><strong>Duration: </strong>Seven days (8 hours each day, with breaks). Total: 56 hour workshop</p>
<p><strong>Accommodation</strong>:  available on request for students travelling to Pordenone, only if accompanied by an adult.</p>
<p><strong>Summer Course Details:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>9:00 to 13.00/14.00 to 17.00 hrs. (breaks for lunch and snacks)</li>
<li>One film professional; one assistant per group</li>
<li>Studio group work and on-location/external shooting</li>
<li>Maximum 10 students per group</li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>WE’RE FILMING IN FRIULI and LONDON.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Be a part of the 2012 Olympic atmosphere !</strong></p>
<p>We are putting together a crew of 10 who will start filming in Friuli Venezia Giulia  for 1 week early in 2012  and will finish their work in London for a further week during the Olympic Games. The documentary will be in the English language; it will be entirely self-written and self-produced by the group.</p>
<p>Crew members can be from  Friuli Venezia Giulia  or other parts of Italy. Minimum age is 16 (July 2012).</p>
<p><strong>SCHEDULE</strong></p>
<p><strong>FVG, Italy</strong></p>
<p>At least 2 workshops will be scheduled in Pordenone before the start of the first shooting week.</p>
<p><strong>Workshop 1:</strong><br />
Getting to know the Crew and your leaders; introduction to the programme; start of work on the storyline and choice of locations for shooting.</p>
<p><strong>Workshop 2:</strong><br />
In depth work on the storyline- storyboards and script; get to know the film kit and how to use it; planning of schedule for start of filming.</p>
<p><strong>Film Week No.1</strong> in Friuli Venezia Giulia.  Dates to be confirmed. Possible locations: Trieste, Udine, Spilimbergo, Pordenone, Lignano.</p>

<p>Arrival: 22nd July 2012</p>

<p>In association with You Crew, The Language Club is able to offer a limited programme of filmmaking courses during the summer of 2012 for students from 13 to 19 years of age in Friuli Venezia Giulia</p>
<h4><strong><a href="http://www.thelanguageclub.eu/junior-filmmaking-workshops-20112012/">Junior Filmmakers Workshops</a></strong></h4>
<p>Today’s adults and students, now more than ever, use visual media to communicate at home, work and university and in social settings. Video has become an integrated part of all our lives in one way or another. YOU CREW workshops, led by a professional instructor, are designed to stimulate observation, analysis and communication using the English Language.</p>
<h4><a style="font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold;" href="http://www.thelanguageclub.eu/documentary-filmmaking/">Documentary Filmmaking in the English Language</a></h4>
<p>These courses are a hands-on experience in filmmaking &#8216;on location&#8217;.</p>
<p>Every course will be unique because every film is different.</p>
<p>The crew will be rotated on a daily or half daily basis giving each student a chance to experience and experiment with different roles. Every student will, at some point during the shoot take on the role of Director, Sound Recordist, Camera Operator, Continuity, Follow Focus, Assistant, Grip, Location Manager, Transport Manager, and Runner.</p>
<p>Each of these roles carries its own responsibility and is essential to the efficient running of a film crew.</p>
<p>All aspects of the filming process are covered by the students. These include:</p>
<p>Pre-production</p>
<ul>
<li>Having an input into the script and scriptwriting.</li>
<li>The use and a working knowledge of the kit-workshops will be carried out prior to shooting.</li>
<li>Locations for shooting and the reasons for their selection will be debated.</li>
</ul>
<p>Shooting</p>
<ul>
<li>Basic Direction hints and tips will be supplied by the accompanying, supervising Director/Director of Photography.</li>
<li>The language and the mystery of making films will be explained.</li>
<li>On set discipline and etiquette will also be explained.</li>
</ul>
<p>Post Production</p>
<ul>
<li>Editing (optional) This takes place after the course.</li>
</ul>
<p>These courses are designed to give English Language Students the opportunity to practice and hone their vocabulary and understanding of the English Language in a creative working environment that has a purpose.</p>
<p>Filmmaking can be enjoyable and exciting, particularly on a foreign location. Working as a team and accepting the responsibility of the various role changes will be beneficial in future work situations…And we can all have a lot of fun in an exciting City.</p>

Sonya has taught English abroad in France at a state school and in Padova, Italy, for a private school where she worked with both teenagers and adults teaching both Business and General English. She also worked for two years in a language school in London where she was involved in the administration of the school.</p>
<p>She spent six years working for Zanussi CLV Systems in London as Translator and PA with responsibility for Human Resources which allowed her to learn a great deal about business life and helped her with teaching Business English.</p>
<p>For the last 16 years she has worked in Pordenone, Italy, teaching General and Business English at all levels and to all ages. She has specialized in preparing students for the Cambridge exams from KET to PROFICIENCY and has achieved an excellent pass rate for her students.</p>
